What is a Snuffle Mat and how does it work?

A Snuffle Mat is a soft fleece mat designed to encourage your pet’s natural foraging behaviour. Simply scatter dry treats or kibble among the folds, and let your pet sniff them out. It slows down mealtimes, reduces anxiety, and provides mental stimulation.

What is a Snuffle Ball and how is it different from a Snuffle Mat?

A Snuffle Ball is a 3D version of a Snuffle Mat — it’s a soft fleece ball with layers of folds and pockets for hiding dry treats or kibble. Unlike a mat, it moves and rolls, offering more challenge and engagement for dogs who love a puzzle.

What size should I choose?

We recommend:

Mini for toy breeds and small pets

Medium for most small-to-medium dogs

Mega for bigger breeds or high-energy sniffers

If you’re unsure, feel free to contact us for guidance based on your pet’s breed and preferences.

Are your products suitable for pets other than dogs?

Yes! While most of our enrichment toys are designed with dogs in mind, they’re also suitable for cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, and other small pets. We recommend supervision during use.

What materials are used in your toys?

All Nova Zeal enrichment toys are made with anti-pill polar fleece, chosen for its softness, safety, and long-lasting quality. It’s gentle on teeth and paws, machine washable, and perfect for pets who love a good forage or tug.

Are these toys suitable for aggressive chewers?

These toys are designed for interactive play, not solo chewing. We recommend always supervising your pet during use. If your dog is a known chewer or destroys toys quickly, these may not be suitable for unsupervised use.

Where are your products made?

Every item is handcrafted in the Scottish Highlands. We take pride in slow crafting and ethical, small-batch production.

How do I clean the products?

Most items are machine washable at 30°C. Please air dry and avoid tumble drying. Full care instructions are included with your order.

Can I request a custom colour or size?

Yes! We offer an array of colour themes, custom palettes, patterns, and larger or connected mats. Contact us here to discuss your request.

Can mats be connected together?

They can! You may need to remove a small section of tied fleece to access the connector points. We're happy to assist with setup — just get in touch.

Do you offer wholesale pricing?

We do not offer wholesale pricing. However, we do offer trade pricing for hotels, Airbnbs, event venues, and other businesses looking to enhance their dog-friendly offerings. We can create bespoke Dog Hampers tailored to your specific needs and brand.

How long does shipping take?

Most orders are shipped within 3–5 working days. Custom orders may take a little longer. You’ll receive tracking details as soon as your order is on the way.
